How It All Started

From a Weekend Trip to a Way of Life

PMG Camping was born on a rainy August weekend in 2021, when three friends camped illegally on the banks of Thokarwadi lake and watched a thousand fireflies light up the forest. They looked at each other and said: "Everyone needs to see this."

What started as a weekend passion project — borrowing tents, cooking rice on a single burner and guiding friends through jungle trails — grew organically into PMG Camping: Maharashtra's most loved lakeside adventure brand.

Today we host hundreds of guests each season, run structured trek programmes through the Sahyadri, lead overland expeditions into remote forest zones and protect the very ecosystems we explore.

🌿

Nature First

Every decision we make prioritises protecting the environment we love.

🤝

Community Roots

We hire locally, source food locally and give back to Thokarwadi village.

🛡️

Safety Always

No adventure is worth risking a life. We plan every detail around safety.

Authentic Experiences

We curate real, unscripted moments — not tourist packages.

Our Mission

To Reconnect People with Nature

In a world of screens and schedules, PMG exists to remind people that the most powerful experiences happen offline — around a campfire, on a misty trail, watching the stars emerge or witnessing fireflies light up the dark.

We believe that meaningful time in nature makes people kinder, calmer and more connected — to each other, and to the world they live in.

Our Vision

A Thriving Wild Sahyadri

We envision a Maharashtra where the forests, rivers and wildlife of the Sahyadri are celebrated, protected and accessible to all — not just the privileged few who know where to look.

Our long-term goal is to expand our conservation programmes, support local tribal communities and build the finest responsible adventure tourism brand in Western India.

Our Commitment to the Land

We operate by a simple principle: leave every place better than you found it.

♻️
Zero Waste Policy
All food is served on biodegradable or reusable ware. We carry out every piece of non-organic waste from trek routes and campsites.
🌱
Tree Planting Programme
For every 10 guests, we plant one native Sahyadri tree. We've planted over 200 trees around Thokarwadi since 2022.
🏘️
Local Employment First
Over 80% of our staff are from Thokarwadi and neighbouring villages. We pay fair wages and support year-round employment.
💧
Responsible Water Use
Low-flow washroom fixtures, rainwater harvesting and no single-use plastic water bottles anywhere on site.
🦋
Wildlife Protection
Strict no-disturbance policy for wildlife. Guides are trained in wildlife ethics. Firefly viewing is observation-only — no touching or capturing.
📚
Education & Awareness
Every guest receives a nature orientation. We partner with local schools for free environmental education treks each quarter.
